Data We Collect

Local pass-and-play can be used without an account. Online features collect the account identifier, display name, authentication email when provided by Firebase Auth, queue state, game moves, results, ratings, match history, replay data, reconnect state, and support messages you send. Account, game, rating, and history records are processed through Firebase Auth, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Hosting, and Google Cloud backend services. A Cloud Storage for Firebase bucket is configured in the Firebase project, but version 1.0.0 does not upload player files to Cloud Storage.

Mobile builds may request Google AdMob banner ads. Ad requests can include device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, network information, coarse location inferred from IP address, and ad performance data handled by Google. This release requests non-personalized banner ads by default.

How We Use Data

We use data to operate local and online games, validate moves on the server, maintain separate casual and ranked ratings, prevent abuse and cheating, restore interrupted games, show match history and leaderboards, answer support requests, secure the service, fix crashes, and fund mobile builds with banner ads.

Sharing

We use Firebase, Google Cloud, and Google AdMob as service providers. We do not sell player profiles, match records, or support messages. We may disclose information when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or to protect the service and its players.

Choices

You can play local games without signing in. Ranked games require an authenticated account. You can initiate account deletion from the in-app Profile screen, request deletion or export at https://assimilation-chess.web.app/data-deletion, or email privacy@assimilationchess.com for profile export, display-name correction, and support-message deletion.

Mobile ad preferences are also controlled by the operating system advertising ID settings. This release requests non-personalized banner ads by default.

Retention And Security

Profiles and ranked records are retained while the account exists so ratings, history, and fair-play review remain consistent. On deletion, personal profile and authentication data is deleted or anonymized, while limited records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, or ranked-game integrity. Support messages are retained only as long as needed to resolve and audit the request.

Data may be processed in the United States and other locations used by our service providers. We use authenticated server APIs and backend move validation to protect official game state, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.

Children

Assimilation Chess is intended for players age 13 and older. Do not create an online account or send personal information if you are under 13.

Updates

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected in the in-app legal screen and the hosted policy before release where required.
